Narzo 70 Turbo: A Game Changer for Budget Smartphones:-
Like Realme Narzo 70 Turbo are launched, our work becomes very difficult.Think about it, a Dimensity 7300 Processor smartphone is available for Rs 25-50K & now you’re getting it for Rs 15K. Everything that we spoke about, best smartphone under Rs 20K, best smartphone under Rs 25K. Now if you’re getting it directly under Rs 15K, what will you think? I feel the same way.
Unboxing and First Impression:-
The unboxing & first impressions of Narzo 70 Turbo. This is going to be a very popular phone, that’s all I’m going to say.Make it real, let’s see. Realme Quick Guide, documentation & then you have the sim card tool. It’s a square camera module, it’s a decent case. But this phone, OMG! There’s a 45W charger in the box, so that’s nice.
USB Type A to Type C charging cable are given. There’s a flat display, in-hand feel, it feels nice when you hold it. There are flat sides & look at the design.
As I’ve said in the Realme videos, Realme keeps experimenting with different designs. And this is also quite different. There are black bands on the sides, it’s yellow, it’s Realme branding. It’s a square camera module.
Design and Build Quality:-
It’s light at 182g, it has a 5500mAh battery but it feels light in hand. There’s a plastic back, but it looks nice. Some people will like it, some won’t. There are 3 colours, purple, green & yellow. It’s basically a motorsport inspired design. It’s a nice build.
Button and Port Layout:-
Let’s look at the buttons & ports.Speaker grill at the bottom, USB Type C. Then there’s a microphone & a sim card tray.
Nothing given in the left side. There’s a 3.5mm jack at the top, so that’s nice. There’s a stereo speaker grill. There’s a noise cancelling microphone at the right side. There’s a volume rocker at the top. And then there’s a power on off button. It’s not side mounted, it’s an in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s under Rs 15K.
Display Features:-
Talking about the display, it’s a 6.67” OLED display. It has a 120Hz fast refresh rate. It has a 1200NITS HVM high brightness 8bit panel. It has a 93% screen-to-body ratio. So it’s a flat & lovely panel. It’s decent & bright. The colours are good, no problems.
Look at the chin at the bottom & the side bezels. The upper bezels are very thin & the center is punch hole. Alright, let’s talk about the specifications. There are some interesting things here.
Powerful Performance with Dimensity 7300:-
It has a Dimensity 7300 SoC. It’s available in 3 variants, 6GB RAM, 128GB RAM, 8GB RAM & 12GB RAM.
And all of them are under Rs 20K. The base variant is around Rs 15K. It’s a net effective price. And the 12GB RAM, 256GB RAM & 8GB RAM are under Rs 19-20K. So all of them are between Rs 15K-20K. I mean, this is really good. It comes on the 7300 Energy Edition, so it’s power efficient as well. We’ll talk about that later.
Battery and Charging:-
It has an LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 3.1 storage type, 5000mAh battery & 45W charging. So if you play games on 90FPS, you can play New State, BGMI etc. And we tested it, yes you can play games on 90FPS. And Dimensity 7300 is a stable processor. We got 76-77% CPU throttle test, so it’s a stable processor. It’s also a power efficient processor as it’s 4NM based.
Gaming and Cooling:-
So even as a gaming phone, under Rs 15K, this is really nice. And due to the flat display, gamers prefer flat display. So it’s excellent. This is amazing. In fact, there’s a 6 axis gyroscope for better gaming. You know how important gyroscope is in gaming. There’s also a GT mode, which is focused on gaming.
You get it in an expensive phone & you get it in this one as well. I think in this Rs 15K price range, this is the 1st segment phone that gives you 90FPS gaming. It gives 6050mm2 vapour cooling chamber. I don’t think there’s a phone that’ll give even under Rs 20K. So that’s really good. If I talk about Antutu on paper score, it’s 7.5 Lakhs.
Realme has also given a TUV lag free certification. So basically, they say use it for 2-3 years & still there won’t be any lag. If I talk about OS, there are 3rd party apps like Hot Games, Hot Apps, Bloatware. Which you can uninstall. If you’re launching a phone in this price range, then there’ll be some pre-installed apps.
Software and OS:-
It comes on Android 14 out of the box. And you get 2 years major updates & 3 years security updates. And yes, it has a virtual RAM of upto 26GB. You can choose how much you want.
Connectivity and Sensors:-
Connectivity, there’s WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, 9 5G bands. There are 2-3 in India, plus there are 9 5G bands. So absolutely no problems.
There’s no NFC & no IR blaster. All sensors are present.
There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, they work well. All sensors are there. And along with gaming, the speakers are good. So obviously, it’ll be fun in both multimedia & gaming. And it has dual stereo speakers, which are loud & have good quality.
Even your video viewing experience will be good. Because it has a big display & the colours look good. So multimedia is also very good. And yes, you can binge watch Netflix, Widevine L1 supports. You can watch HDR videos on YouTube. It’s not available on Netflix, but you can stream in full HD. I’d like to talk about some features of OS.
There’s a smart loop on Realme phones, where you can share your phone in 1-2 touches. There’s AI clear voice support, so you can hear the clear voice when you’re on the phone. And it’ll go to the next person, so that’s there. There’s smart image matting, so if you want to make stickers, you can just press a long photo & the sticker will be cut out & you can use it on social media.
There’s free call feature, so you can call on Bluetooth. And yes, there are air gestures for social media.
Camera Performance:-
Let’s talk about the camera. On the back, there’s a primary sensor. Because there are dual sensors, 50MP plus 2MP, there’s no ultrawide sensor. There’s a 16MP selfie sensor on the front.
And if I talk about the primary sensor, if you take photos from there, I’ve seen one thing consistently on Realme phones, that the dynamic range is good & this one is no different. I thought it’s a budget series phone under Rs 15K, so it won’t be that good. But the dynamic range was good. Even the skin tones were quite accurate.
So if you want to take portraits from the primary sensor, or if you want colour accuracy or dynamic range, then I think this is a good camera. It’s saved in the original quality, so do check it out. If I talk about the videography, you can shoot at 4K 30FPS with Rare.
You can shoot Full HD 1080p at 30FPS. If I talk about the app features, there’s Night Mode, Street Mode, Video Mode, Photo, Portrait Mode, Film Mode, Panoramic, High Resolution, Time Lapse, Pro Mode, Long Exposure, Dual View Mode, you can use the front & back camera, Tech Scanner, Tilt Shift Mode. So the features are also all there.
Additional Features:-
If I talk about the other features, there’s IP65 certification, there’s Rain Water Touch, which means even if the water falls on the display, you can still use it properly. There’s no FM Radio, SAR values are within limits, there’s no notification light, that’s about it. This is the Narzo 70 Turbo.
I said that the Dimensity 7300 is generally priced at Rs 20-25K. I’d say it’s a benchmark, but now you get the 6GB 128GB variant for Rs 15K. You get an AnTuTu score of 7Lakhs, 90FPS gaming, an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, good multimedia, dual stereo speakers, a vapour cooling chamber which you generally don’t get, GT Mode for performance.
Conclusion:-
All these things are associated with mid-range or premium mid-range. We don’t associate them in the budget series, but now everything is in the Narzo 70 Turbo. A lot of things are in the Realme 13 Plus, which is very similar to it, which is probably a Rs 20-22K phone. That’s what you get for Rs 15K.
Like I said, we’ll have to update our list again very soon. Best smartphone under Rs 20K, best smartphone under Rs 15K, that’s what it is. I’m very happy that consumers have a choice.
