Overview of the Redmi Note 14 Series:-
I must say, 4-5 years ago, there was the Redmi Note series. Wow! Fantastic specifications! Now, the Pro Plus which is priced at Rs 30K is in a different category. It is not that usual observe collection.
However this is the base variant. And the relaxation of the manufacturers are doing simply nicely on this price range. It’s priced at rs 13-14k. And the bottom variant is coming in the variety of rs 15-16k. In that price range, if I talk about Motorola, Realme’s P series, Narzo series, Poco & iQOO. They’ve launched good phones in the range of Rs 10-15K.
Competitive Landscape:-
But this Redmi Note 14 doesn’t match with them. It’s possible that it’ll come in the range of Rs 10-11K. Then the story is distinctive. But this redmi notice 14 is coming in the variety of rs 12-13k. It’s a touch underwhelming & i would say it gets misplaced in the crowd. First, there may be a sim card device, there’s documentation but i won’t speak tons.
Unboxing and Initial Impressions:-
There’s a TPU case but it’s a little different. And if I talk about the Pro Plus, it looks different. The camera module is in the middle & the case is bigger. The phone feels different. The Pro Plus was hefty & heavy. This feels lightweight. There’s a 45W charger & a USB Type A to Type C charging cable.
Last time it was a 33W charger, this time it’s a 45W charger. It can’t compete with other phones. But if I compare it with the Redmi Note 13, there are upgrades. There’s a flat AMOLED display. But look at the design. The Pro Plus & Redmi Note 13’s design is very unlike the Note series. It’s more like iQOO or Realme which does a lot of experiments & designs.
Design and Display:-
The back is a plastic back, whereas the Pro Plus has a glass back. There’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection from the flat side. There’s a 3.5mm jack & all the ports & buttons are present. So it’s not bad at all. The display is 6.67” FHD, 120Hz AMOLED, B-SIM.And the brightness of the display has increased from 1000 nits to 2100 nits.
Performance Specifications:-
If I talk about the specifications, I’d like to talk about the processor. It’s the 7025 Ultra. It’s the upgraded variant of the 6080 processor. It has 6GB RAM, 128GB RAM, 8GB RAM, 12GB RAM, 256GB RAM. We’ve ordered it from China. It’ll be available in India with different variants. I’m hoping that it’ll launch in December-Jan. So that’s what it is. The battery is 5110 mAh with a 45W charger. It has a 4.5L AnTuTu score, LPDDR4X RAM type, UFS 2.2 storage type. It’s not an out & out gaming phone, but you can play games at 40FPS on smooth settings.
Operating system and connectivity:-
I’m no longer going to speak approximately the os, however there is going to be a hyperos. Like i said inside the pro plus video, if it’ll release after 2 months, then it will be definitely exceptional if there is a hyperos on android 15. But yes, there’s a HyperOS on Android 14. Sensors are all in-display fingerprint sensors with face unlock.
They work well, absolutely no problems. Connectivity, we’ll talk about it when we get 5G bands in India. It has Bluetooth 5.3, dual band Wi-Fi & IR blaster. We’re going to talk about the camera, but before that, let’s do a drop test. Yes, that will be fun! This is light, the Pro Plus was 212-213g, it looked heavy & hefty with a 6200 mAh battery.
Camera Setup:-
Let’s talk about the cameras. I was saying that they should’ve done something here. They could’ve given an ultrawide camera, but they didn’t. It has a 50MP primary sensor & a 2MP depth sensor. But yes, it has a Sony LYT600 primary sensor, which is supported by OIS. It has a 16MP selfie sensor, there are decent photos.
Video Capabilities:-
But when it comes to India, there might be some changes in the optimization. I can’t say the colors right now, but there are decent first impressions. The only complaint is that it should’ve been ultrawide. 50MP plus 2MP just doesn’t make the cut. If you’re giving Rs 12-13K, then it should’ve been ultrawide.
Because remember, it’ll launch after 2 months & it’ll run for the entire next year. I mean, at that time, for Rs 20-25K, 50MP plus 2MP doesn’t cut it. Talking about the video graphics, it shoots full HD 30FPS videos. So yeah, that’s there. There’s no 4K here. But yes, like the Note 14 series, the focus is on durability.
Final Thoughts:-
Like I said, there’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection along with IP64 certification. If i have a look at this phone, it’s not horrific or super. It’s kind of average. In fact, i am looking ahead to extra out of the redmi 14 than the observe 14. I can see more hobby in it. What do you observed? Do remark below. And as i said, when it launches in india in 1-2 months.
