The First Teacher of Prince’s: Kripacharya:-
Krupacharya instructed the Drona, Kauravas, and Pandavas prior to their arrival in Hastinapur. His granddad Bhishma was hanging tight for an educator for thech to rulers. The prince was having fun with a ball one day. While playing, the ball jumped and fell into the nearby well.
When the princes looked into the well, the ball was floating on the water. But they could not understand how to get the ball out. Then they saw a Brahmin sitting under a tree nearby. He was none other than Drona. Seeing him, the princes saw a ray of hope and they went to him and stood up.
The Ball in the Well Incident:-
Seeing the boys sad, Drona asked, Children, what is the matter? You look worried. The prince replied, Our ball is floating in the well, but we are unable to get it out. That’s why we have come to you. Can you help us? Drona scolded the prince and said, You should be ashamed.
Drona’s Demonstration of Archery:-
You can’t get your ball out of the well as a Kshatriya. The prince quietly bowed his head. Saying this, Drona went near the well. He raised his bow and left an arrow floating on the water towards the ball. The arrow hit the ball. After that, he aimed at the arrow and shot the second, then the third and then many arrows one after the other. The arrows became a whole bunch and the last arrow reached the top of the well.
Then he went ahead, grabbed the arrow and took the ball out of the well. The prince was very impressed with Drona’s archery. And he prayed to him to teach him martial arts and martial arts. Drona replied, Go and tell your grandfather Bheeshma this wish of yours. If he wants, I will definitely teach you.
The Princes Seek Bhishma’s Permission:-
The prince returned from there and went straight to Bheeshma Pitamah. And told him the incident that took place at the well in detail. Bheeshma understood that that Brahmin is none other than Guru Dronacharya. He immediately went to him and requested him to teach martial arts to the prince. Dronacharya happily accepted Bheeshma Pitamah’s request.
The prince greeted him and asked him, Guruvar, you seem to be worried.Dronacharya replied, But now I want to make a promise to you. When the education is over, you will do me a favor in the form of Guru Dakshina. Will you do me that favor? All the princes remained silent.
Arjun’s Promise to Dronacharya:-
But Arjun got up and went to the Guru. Arjun said politely, Gurudev, I promise to do your work. Dronacharya was very happy. He placed his hand on Arjun’s head and blessed him. He hugged Arjun and said, Arjun, I am blessed to have a disciple like you. Tears of happiness flowed from Dronacharya’s eyes.
And from that day, Arjun became Guru Dronacharya’s favorite disciple. The practice of the princes’ martial arts had been completed. That’s why Guru Dronacharya decided to test the princes’ martial arts and courage. To test the art of archery, he made a wooden bird and hung it on a branch of a tree.
Testing the Princes: The Bird’s Eye:-
He told his disciples, Aim at the right eye of the bird hanging on the tree. Everyone will get one chance. Whoever will shoot the eye of the bird will be successful in this test. And he will be honored with the title of the best archer. He first called Yudhishthir and ordered him to aim. Guru Dronacharya asked him, Yudhishthir, what do you see? Guruji, I see trees, birds and leaves.
Aim is not able to you. Go back, Guru ordered. After this, he asked the same question to all the disciples one by one. And everyone answered like Yudhishthir. Finally, Guru Dronacharya called Arjun. He asked Arjun the same question. Arjun said, Guruji, I can only see the right eye of the bird. Hearing Arjun’s answer, a smile appeared on Guru Drona’s face.
He asked Arjun to aim. Arjun shot the right eye of the bird. Guru Drona went ahead and embraced him. And he was declared the best archer among all the disciples. Till now, Guru Dronacharya had trained the princes in archery. He told this to Bhishma Patama.
The Grand Competition: Display of Skills:-
So, he organized competitions for the brave princes, such as archery, swordplay, mace war and malla war.
Archery and mace war were the centers of special attraction. Arjun performed a surprising feat of archery. He tied a bandage on his eyes and fired wordless arrows. Apart from this, he fired one arrow and ignited the fire. The mace war between Bheem and Duryodhan was also worth seeing.
The Fierce Mace Battle:-
Bheem and Duryodhan both had mastery in mace warfare. Therefore, the battle between the two was fierce. Dronacharya’s son Ashwatthama saved them. At the same time, another incident shocked everyone. Karna also expressed his desire to show his archery skills in that competition. Why not do it? You can also show the glory of your archery.
Karna’s Challenge to Arjun:-
Guru Dronacharya told him. But I want to compete with Arjun in archery. Karna replied. People of the royal family knew that the competition between Karna and Arjun would be like life and death. That’s why Guru Dronacharya argued that this competition is only for princes. That’s why Karna can’t take part in it.
Because he is a son of a merchant. Duryodhan found this to be the biggest opportunity of his life. Because his biggest worry was that his brothers didn’t have any archers. He believed that one day he would defeat Bheem. Some of his brothers will kill Nakul and Sahadev. And one day he can even kill Yudhishthir.
Duryodhan’s Clever Move:-
But he was worried about Arjun. Because he didn’t have any archers to compete with him. That’s why when he saw Karna and his ability, he immediately caught him. He stood up and prayed to the king on behalf of Karna. And he said, Hey father, Karna is still the same. We have a small kingdom.
Sudhur Country, which is called Ang. The kingdom of Ang is also without a king. I declare Karna as the king of Ang Desh. He is the king of England. I don’t care who his father is. He embraced Karna. And said, you are my brother and a king. Karna thanked Duryodhana. And their friendship became deeper.
